I started out in my home country in Turkey, I owned my own hair salon and kept my clients dear and close. I went to school there and first got my cosmetology license there; however when I came here I had to go back to school for my license since I could not use my Turkish license here. I rekindled my love for the creativity that comes as a cosmetologist but I still keep my clients as dear and close to me as I did in my own shop in Turkey. I’ve also done work in Midtown Manhattan for close to 15 years now in a little shop owned by a close friend of mine. I still work there on Sundays just for the joy of being able to do what I love in one of the best known cities in America.
My goal as a stylist is to maintain the highest standard of professionalism, performance, and integrity. I feel that I have the ability to work diligently and communicate effectively to achieve clients desires, color and style. The highlight of my career was being an Educator for Framesi North America where I taught my fellow peers hair color techniques and formulation. I traveled and received the opportunity to master my craft under the watching eye of amazing stylists.
When I’m not doing hair, I enjoy traveling and exploring new places.
My name is Floridalma and I have been in the beauty industry for 5 years now. My desire to do hair started in high school. The girls on the cheer team with me would ask me to do their hair before games. This is when I realized I have a passion for hair. I didn’t mind being late to our games as long as our team looked beautiful! I attended Centereach high school, where I completed cosmetology school and started my career at Maia in 2015 right after graduation. I feel grateful to be apart of such an amazing salon, to work with and learn from talented hairstylists.
My passion and dedication enabled me to earn the position of stylist just one year later. I have taken specialty classes in the color lines we use and carry Goldwell, Eufora, as well as creative and online classes from “Pretty Little Ombre”. Combining what i have learned with my creativity enables me to specialize in balayages, highlights, and creative and corrective color.
Adding just the right Haircut, and or extensions enables me to create the perfect look for my clients and make their hair goal come true!
My available is Tuesday- Saturday, and every other Sunday.
I speak fluent Spanish

In the very beginning of my career I actually wanted to become a barber, as men’s cutting is how I started my love for hair, but my family and friends urged me to go to cosmetology school instead so that I could pursue both men’s and women’s cutting and coloring. So my journey began, starting at Long Island Beauty School, where I got my first job as an apprentice at an Arrojo flagship salon. I worked closely with stylists during my apprenticeship, taking in as much as I could in my time there. In March 2019 I began my new journey at MAIA. It has been one of the best decisions I have made thus far in my career. I have taken various classes from Goldwell color education, classic cuts, styling, bridal makeup application and also received my certificate for application of hair extensions through Bellami Pro.
In 2018 I worked New York fashion week and Brooklyn fashion week, building relationships with designers and photographers. I plan to further my education at Vidal Sassoon Academy in London and become an educator to salons and stylists for my favorite color company Goldwell. I specialize in blondes, bright reds and coppers, corrective color and fashion colors. I believe it’s extremely important to continue educating myself to be able to give my clients the latest trends. I look forward to meeting all of my new guests and making all of your hair dreams a reality!

My name is Kelsey and I have been working in the beauty industry as a hair stylist and esthetician for 11 years. I am so blessed to have been with MAIA Salon and Spa from the very beginning, when the idea of an integrative holistic approach to beauty and inner well-being was just a vision. Watching the space grow and evolve over the past few years has been an amazing experience.
I have knowledge and skill in most aspects of hair and skin care including custom coloring/cutting/styling, keratin treatments, formal styling, makeup, waxing, facials and microdermabrasion. I am currently most passionate about corrective color and human hair extensions. Being able to create a look that a client had thought to be unimaginable is what keeps my passion for the beauty industry thriving.
As far as skin care services, I have worked with many product lines including Dermalogica, PCA Skin and SkinCeuticals however, Eminence Organic Skin Care has been my favorite line to utilize on my guests as well as my own skin for more than 8 years.
I have been very fortunate to have taken many advanced training courses throughout my career as a stylist in several academies in New York, Florida and California. My extensive education consists of techniques from Vidal Sassoon, Paul Mitchell, Kim Vo, Pravana, Redken, Wella, Goldwell, Keratin Complex, Lasio, Brazilian Blowout and many more. The past few years at MAIA have been spent building my knowledge in Eufora’s color and product lines which utilize Organic Aloe Vera, natural plant extracts and essential oils, fitting the holistic approach we strive to deliver.
Having a career based on helping others look and feel amazing had inspired me to continue my education and career journey to becoming a Registered Nurse in order to truly understand how to promote health and wellness to my guests in all aspects. I hope to someday combine both of my careers and passions completely to deliver the full experience of beauty and health from the inside outward.
My goal is to share all of my knowledge and experience with each guest that sits in my chair. I truly believe that I, personally, can only show an individual how to care for themselves in order to look and feel their best. The rest is up to that person to utilize the power I give them to continue their own journey to a happier, healthier being.
Book an appointment to see me for your beauty needs at MAIA on Saturdays from 9am-6pm

Future stylist/Lash Tech Start date: Oct 2019, My name is Grace and I am a licensed cosmetologist. Growing up with an older sister, who is also hairstylist, I was always her model. Little did I know that some day I would pick up the same profession. Ironically, my passion for hair began when my life was at an all time low. I was not able to reach my dreams due to family issues. This meant I had no choice but to move out of my guardians house after high school in 2017. I soon moved in to a more stable environment and was able to gain clarity. I took a couple years after high school to discover what I was truly meant for. I began my career at Western Suffolk Boces and was taught by one of the best teachers there. Not only did she encourage and skill me, but she was the mother figure I unfortunately never had. I found such a new meaning and love for my purpose. That is to make other people feel beautiful and worthy. Soon after my cosmetology program I became licensed in 2019. I had the pleasure of taking classes from Redken, Wella, and Goldwell educators. I am also certified in Brazilian Blowout, Keratin Complex, Trissola, and other keratins. I am currently registered to take a full day lash course in Brooklyn. This course will be beneficial for my career since I can notice how much of a difference full lashes can make on clients. My goal is to further my education to become as skilled as possible for my future clients. While assisting at Maia salon, I was able to work with a Eufora educator during our Mondays at Racine program. I was able to learn aboout the Eufora color line which is derived from aloe vera. They take an organic approach to deliver the needs of clients. This line is also used during our Mondays at Racine program. This program delivers complimentary services to cancer patients undergoing treatment. Being able to make people in need of services beautiful, is something that is unmatched. I am beyond humbled and proud to be apart of something so moving. Learning about this innovative line made me so happy to be apart of such a sophisticated family. They offer educational opportunities for stylists so I attended Eufora Vision Quest 2020. Even though it was virtual, I could still take notes and live stream if I had any questions. I also plan on attending Eufora Vision Quest 2021 in San Diego. Helping clients feel their best is something that is an irreplaceable experience for me. I am so excited and humbled to see how much I grow in the near future. When I am not working, I am traveling. Whether it be local or a full week vacation. I enjoy learning about different people from around the world. I have been to the Bahamas, Bermuda, and plan on visiting different countries and learning new cultures.

My name is Nicolette and I am a licensed esthetician. I’ve always been interested in the beauty industry and started off as a self-taught makeup artist, before venturing into the skin care world, while attending Long Island Hair, Skin and Nails. I was lucky to have an amazing group of teachers, who helped guide me toward finding my passion. I fell in love with all things skin care, and the feeling of helping someone feel beautiful in their own skin was priceless.
I continued to learn past introductory esthetics and became interested in oncology esthetics. I started volunteering at MAIA Salon while still in school, for a program called Mondays at Racine. Mondays at Racine is a nonprofit organization, which provides complimentary services for cancer patients currently going through treatment. This program touches me deeply, as it hits close to home. I’m blessed and humbled to be a part of this program.
After graduating, I was immediately welcomed to be a part of the MAIA Salon family, as an esthetician. Working here has only built my knowledge and expanded my horizons and I am grateful for the opportunity to do so. I’ve built a close relationship with every person who walks into the spa and enjoy meeting new faces every day!

My name Afia, 10 years ago, I came to This country from Pakistan, where I first studied the art of skin and hair care. From stylish haircuts, styles, and color to create the perfect face-framing eyebrows by threading or waxing my love of the industry kept growing. As soon as I arrived in the United States, I immediately researched schools so I could obtain my NYS License and continue to my passion. I found the Long Island beauty school and graduated in 2013. While working in the field learned keratin treatment, highlights, ombré, balayage, from there t I took classes for an eyelash lift and tint as well as Professional makeup classes in NYC given by M.A.C company, In 2019 I opened my own salon, excited when I start work as an owner feel so proud, that finally, I can produce the looks and style that my clients want while being self-employed. However, sadly In 2020, the Covid-19 situation it’s badly hurt my business, it was difficult to get employees to work, and the clientele was not the same anymore, the business was not sustainable. I made the most difficult decision to close my store. While talking to one of my good friends he suggested a salon he knew of, and he told me about Maia salon and spa. I am thrilled to say that I began working with them soon after that and So delighted to be a part of the Maia salon family, and to learn all the all people there are so very nice and helpful I’m glad, that I’m part of that family! I can’t wait to meet you and make your hair dreams come true !!
I started my career in cosmetology because I like to make people feel good about themselves. I have never felt that this was a job, it has always been my passion. Everyday is like my first day. I have been fortunate enough to work in high-end salons that always furthered my education, including one salon that I had the advantage to meet Paul Mitchel and Jeanie Bra. When they first introduced Paul Mitchel’s first fine original products. My dedication continued from there with classes such as Paul Mitchel, L’Oreal, Framesi (hair cutting), and Redken. My specialty is hair cutting and styling. I give my clients my complete and undivided attention, I want my clients to feel special when they leave my chair. This career has always been very good to me.
