For athletes with aching muscles after a strenuous game or training session, – or a body stiff from sitting at a desk all day – our Sports Massage is the right choice for you. Our massage therapist will target the palpably tight soft tissues, such as muscles and tendons, in order to restore range of motion and reduce painful tightness.
Hot Stone Massage

All of the massage therapists at Maia are NYS licensed and have completed 1000+ hours at an accredited school where prenatal massage theory, technique, and contraindications are included in their course of study.
We require a note from the expectant mother’s OB/GYN stating that this is not a “high risk” pregnancy and that the client is beyond their First trimester of pregnancy. Contraindications to massage include Pre-Eclampsia, Deep Vein Thrombosis, and Placenta problems.
Prenatal massage is performed in the side lying position supported by a variety of bolsters and pillows to avoid ligament strain and to allow for maximum circulation.
Our LMTs typically utilize a wide variety of massage strokes on pregnant women, including petrissage, effleurage, compression, feathering, and gentle stretching. We do NOT do any acupressure points, ankle massage, or massage over varicose veins.
Prenatal massage is performed with BioTone unscented hypoallergenic grape seed oil or cream. Steamed towels are incorporated to remove oils. We do NOT offer essential oils/aromatherapy or hot stone upgrades to prenatal clients.
* A doctor’s note is required for clients in the 2nd and 3rd trimester of pregnancy.
